So the social worker does not work on Friday’s and the court date was on Wednesday. I completely forgot to call in time and Thursday evening I left her a message only to realize I have to wait until Monday to hear if their was another continuance, or the posting in the paper, for how long that would be. Hopefully bright and ealrly on Monday she will be able to give me an update so I can have a timeline. We are hoping to move and break this hour commute in half. I don’t want to move until the adoption is finalized or there will be more of a wait (which I refuse to impose upon myself).
Now for updates: He seems to be teething recently beacuse Wednesday night I think I got a collective 3 hours in 45 min bursts. Lots of tears. Mostly on his part, but a few on mine. Last dr’s visit he was 27 pounds, yet he still works 12 months most of the times. He is talking up a storm and it is so funny. He likes broccoli but pronounces it cockly. He’s starting to get an affinity for chocolate, yet calls is cockerlit. He loves taking his socks off, but when he sees them in the laundry basket he says, oh my cox! It’s too darn funny. He dropped a marker a few days ago and said, whoopsy. I knew he could say uh, oh, but whoopsy, so funny! He is now working this ’shy’ routine, kinda irritating in a large group setting, but if everyone was 3 feet taller than me I think I’d be a little shy as well. He is also starting to learn colors in his toddler class. So far he knows red, green, blue, brown, and pink. I think that’s pretty impressive, but I would. He just turned 19 months on the 18th and has been very excited by potty training. He goes virtually every time and is starting to tell me before he needs to go. I bought him the cutest darn underpants, but I am so afraid I will be mopping up pee puddles that I have been too scared to use them, maybe in March. He is very aggreable at times and will follow most request with, ‘kay’ or a high pitched ‘uh huh.’ Apparently he picked up an accent somewhere along the way. He can do the whole kissy lip thing, but not on demand unless he’s saying goodbye to g-grammy in the ‘home.’ That’s about it.
Updates to follow (hopefully by Monday).
